Freedom Quick Release Mount 1.0 and 2.0

FQRM 1.0 and 2.0

A DIFFERENT RIFLE SUPPORT OPTION. NOT EVERY

SHOOTING SITUATION IS A NAIL AND NOT EVERY

SOLUTION IS A HAMMER.

This piece of kit for the shooter’s toolbox combines our widely popular Freedom Quick Release Mount and our QR plate-s(small) and QR plate-l(large), quick release plate. FQRM 1.0 and 2.0 attaches to a section of Picatinny rail by sliding it onto the rail and then utilizes two hex drive cross bolts through the Pic rail slots to secure it in place. Once in place it allows for the rifle to be attached to the receiver plate on the tripod ball head. Occupying only 4 slots of Picatinny rail and extending less than ¾” below the rail it is not eating up a bunch of real estate. With it being hard mounted on the rail section it does not mean you will be spending time locating and attaching the FQRM 1.0 to your rifle when needed. The use of the FQRM 1.0 and 2.0 attaches the rifle to the tripod allowing the tripod to hold the rifle easing strain on the shooter who may be in position for extended periods of time. Being able to engage and disengage the rifle from the tripod by simply throwing a lever means you can establish a firing position and displace very quickly. Fighting a tripod when having to adjust to the situation is not efficient. This system can also free up a hand or two so that other task may be accomplished in position while maintaining the rifle on target line. Gravity and physics play a unique part in rifles hitting the deck so it is always recommended that you don’t leave the rifle unattended farther than arm’s length away regardless of the tripod support system used. The only way to truly keep a rifle from falling from any support is to ground it. I recommend the rifleman position the FQRM 1.0 just forward of the magazine with just enough clearance to allow magazine changes and not interfere with the operation of the rifle. By placing the rifle at almost a balance point and utilizing the ball head as a fulcrum the shooter can manage recoil and adjust for elevation and windage much easier than farther towards the muzzle of the rifle. Applying side pressures through torqueing the sling and or loading (leaning into) the tripod defeats the structural design of a tripod and creates stresses counter intuitive to fundamentals of marksmanship. Positioning one leg towards the target accomplishes a couple things: One it allows the rifle to return to target line with follow through incident to recoil; Two it allows the shooter to get in a good shooting position between the other two legs. In addition to working as a tripod interface mount the FQRM works as a convenient palm rest and barricade stop.

FQRM 1.0

From a solid piece of billet aluminum and anodized black we have combined our regular FQRM and the Quick Release Plate – small (for use with the “Mini”, “Medium”, and “Large” tripods). The FQRM 1.0 allows the rifle to be hard mounted to the tripod ball head receiver plate. This system can be quickly engaged and disengaged by the throw of the receiver plate lever. The FQRM 1.0 slides onto the rifle fore end and is secured by two hex drive cross bolts. The relief groove cut into the FQRM allows the end user to pry the mount open to accommodate off spec rail sections if it is too tight going onto the rail. Tightening the cross bolts will then secure the FQRM in place. ONLY tighten the mount with enough force to keep the mount from moving.

FQRM 2.0

From a solid piece of billet aluminum and anodized black we have combined our regular FQRM and the Quick Release Plate – large (for use with the XL tripod and AF 1100E grip head). The FQRM 2.0 allows the rifle to be hard mounted to the tripod receiver plate. This system can be quickly engaged and disengaged by the throw of the receiver plate lever. The FQRM 2.0 slides onto the rifle fore end and is secured by two hex drive cross bolts. The relief groove cut into the FQRM allows the end user to pry the mount open to accommodate off spec rail sections if it is too tight going onto the rail. Tightening the cross bolts will then secure the FQRM in place. ONLY tighten the mount with enough force to keep the mount from moving. ick to add text, images, and other content
